Goodbye Summer.....

Happy Friday everyone and Happy Labor Day Weekend!  This weekend marks the unofficial end of Summer and to be honest I'm glad.  This Summer has been long and hot and miserable, and unfortunately where I live we have a ways to go before we have a break from hot weather. But I am relieved that the Summer months are behind us and soon the cooler weather will return.  So to celebrate the end of Summer and say farewell hot days and hot nights here are some summer street style inspirations for the Labor Day weekend.  Enjoy :)

Guilty Pleasure...Victoria's Secret

Happy Friday!  It's another beautiful, although hot Spring day in Cali. Another perfect day for some online shopping.  I have a confession to make.  I love Victoria's Secret.  Actually you could say I'm a Victoria's Secret addict.  It all started on a trip to the mall (where else?)  Just laid off from a job that I loved, and feeling a little depressed, I decided some retail therapy was in order.  So tax refund in hand , I set off for the mall intending to buy just a "few" things.  You know what they say about best laid plans.. Well yeah so anyway.  I walked into Victoria's Secret intending to buy just a couple of pairs of shorts.  I had hopped there before of course but not often.  On this particular day they encouraged me to apply for the credit card.  Thinking "why not" because I'd get 20% off I happily agreed.  I never once thought I'd be approved, until I was.  The rest as they say is history.  My addiction was born.  It started that day with some sweats, shorts and tees.  I managed to put the card out of my mind until another trip to the mall and VS beckoned...

Now I admit I'm a bargain hunter when it comes to clothes.  I'm always looking for sales, but lingerie is a different story.  That day I converted to VS lingerie and have never looked back.  My credit card is constantly at its limit and I don't even stress on it.  I buy full price and sale price and any price.  I collect the Angel reward cards like some people collect stamps.  I have a closet full of free totes, make up bags and whatever other freebie they happen to offer at any given time.  I have one whole drawer devoted to VS tees, another devoted to their bras and till another devoted to their panties.

Yes I buy the matching sets, and truthfully I have tried other brands but in my opinion none are as comfortable or flattering as VS lingerie.  I buy their clothes as well and am somewhat addicted to the Pink line.  I'm actually wearing VS Pink sweats right now and live in them on my day off.  The only comparable line I've found for fit and comfort is Old Navy.

So there it is.  I am a Victoria's Secret addict and I'm not ashamed to admit it.  This is one guilty pleasure I'm not giving up any time soon.  I sleep in VS p.j.'s and live in VS lingerie.  So yes, I'm a broke fashionista, but hey at least my lingerie is cute...

Trends I'm Loving Right Now...

I have to confess I follow trends. I start out hating new trends, like floral skinny jeans for example. Then I see someone wearing a trend in a really cute way and all of the sudden I love it. This year is no different. My latest trend obsession is harem pants. Now admittedly I didn't have a hate for harem pants when they first became a trend. A girl at work wears them all the time. I thought they were cute but not for me. On a recent online shopping spree at Old Navy I needed to spend about twenty more dollars to get the free shipping so I clicked on some gray harem pants and thought "why not?" The rest is history. I LOVE them. I'm wearing them right now as a matter of fact. What I love is that you can dress them up or down. They're perfect to lounge in, run errands in, sit around in, go out to lunch in. Or if you want add heels and a nice blouse and you can wear them to work or out. I love them so much I ordered two more pairs at Forever21 and plan on these being my go to casual outfits for summer. Good news is that I actually got both pairs free by ordering two other sale items. Hurry though, sale ends tonight. Here are the three I bought. Shop: forever21.com oldnavy.com

The Job Search Is On!

Hello everyone and Happy Thursday!  Thank goodness the weekend is almost here!  So, I've been working at the same place for quite awhile now.  It used to be an ok place to work.   It was great if you were in school like I am.  But, the company was bought out and everything changed.  Hours were cut, incentives were taken away and it has become almost unbearable to go to work everyday.  On top of that the new company is doing some pretty shady things actually some downright illegal things.  So, I've decided its time to move on.  I've spent the past week sending out resumes and looking online at every available position.  Then I started thinking.  Now would be a good time to look for a job that I would actually like.  I'm in school so I really only need something part time.  I'll hopefully be working in a law office within the next few years, so why not put my love for fashion to work?
So I started sending resumes to different stores in my area.  To my surprise I actually got called for an interview yesterday.  Its been awhile since I've had a job interview so I was a little nervous.  And I started second guessing my decision.  When I walked in the store I knew I was home.  All the beautiful new Fall styles were calling to me.  The atmosphere was perfect.  I knew in that moment I had made the right choice.
The interview seemed to go well.  I won't know for another week if I made it to round two.  That's fine.  I'm just glad to have made it to round one, because whatever happens with this job, I know this is what I want to do while I'm finishing school.  I honestly wish I had done this sooner, maybe when the place I work for started acting shady or eve n before that, like when I found my current job.  Its ok though.  I'm doing it now and that's what matters.
We'll see how this goes.  I'll be posting updates on the search.  It may or may not turn into a career who knows?  But for a broke fashionista, retail is the perfect job to get through school.
