Keeping it Casual yet Fashionable

Happy weekend everyone!  I hope everyone is having a wonderful Saturday.  As I spent my day mostly being lazy, tweeting and watching old movies with a little yoga in between, my thoughts naturally reverted to fashion.  What does a fashionista wear on a lazy weekend with nothing to do?  If you're like me unless you're sick, you're just not comfortable in pajamas all day long.  Well I take that back, winter isthe exception, but thats for another post.  So, how do you keep it casual yet fashionable when all you have to do is a few errands or even nothing at all?  Actually several ways!  You can be fashionable and comfortable.  Yes its possible.  Here are a few of my favorite weekend outfits that I wear almost anywhere.

1. Sweats, Leggings and Yoga Pants
Yes, I know the rule:  "Never leave the house in sweat pants."  Usually I would agree however there has been a trend in fashionable sweats and I have eagerly jumped on the bandwagon.  The Victoria's Secret Pink line and Supermodel Off-Duty collections are my favorites.  These fun yet stylish sweats and leggings are so comfy you will feel like you're still in your pajamas.  But you definitely won't look like it.  They are perfect all year round and are easy to mix and match to create several weekend outfits.  Great for errands, lunch with a friend, working out or just sitting around watching movies.  These are my go to favorites on a lazy Saturday.

Leggings are another option.  Just as comfortable with the added bonus of dressing them up a little if necessary.  Chanel Iman 's outfit is perfect for a day of shopping:

Yoga pants are also fine for a lazy day.  I wouldn't recommend them for a girls ay out but errands are fine.

2. Dresses and Skirts:  Ok so you don't see yourself going grocery shopping or out to lunch in leggings or sweats.  Another great option is a dress or a skirt.  Dresses are so comfortable and can be dressed up or down.  Perfect for just about anything and can transition from day to night just by adding a few accessories and changing your shoes.  Not only for summer, dresses and skirts can be worn all year long by adding leggings and a cardigan or sweater.  A maxi skirt is adorable and versatile.  In the summer pair it with a tee or tank in fall throw a cardi on and in winter wear a big bulky sweater and boots.  Viola, three outfits, three seasons, comfy and stylish!  Body con skirts are also easy to transition from season to season, althouth they're not right for everyone.

3. Jeans:  Ok, now jeans are a staple in practically everyone's wardrobe.  Jeans are absolutely perfect for a casual weekend spent doing just about anything.  Like dresses they can be dressed up or down, can transition from day to night, are suitable for any season and added bonus they are always in style.  Jeans can be worn with tees, tanks, blouses, sweaters.  They can be topped with a blazer or paired with heels. You don't have to stick to blue denim anymore.  With color all the rage, and floral and prints the trend, the possibilities are endless! Jeans are the most versatile and easy way to stay comfy, fashionable and stylish.

4. Last but not least Shorts:  I love shorts.  I know they're not for everyone, but living in Central California where an average summer day is 105 degrees, they have been a staple in my wardrobe since birth.  There are a lot of options with shorts these days.  Like jeans, they can also be dressed up or down.  There are denim shorts, lace shorts crochet, patterned, leather the list is endless.  They can be worn with sandals, tennies, flats or even heels.  Another staple that can be mixed and matched to make several outfits out of a few items. Another go to of mine that I love.

These are just a few suggestions for keeping it casual yet fashionable every weekend.  Have fun with it and feel free to send me a message with your own outfit ideas.  :)
